In honor of 'Read Across America' and the beloved Theodore Geisel a.k.a Dr. Suess, I am going to post some of my favorite Dr. Suess quotes today. Feel free to post your own favorite quotes in the comments.
“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”
“I meant what I said and I said what I meant. An Elephant's faithful-one hundred percent”
"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”
“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. You are the guy who'll decide where to go.”
"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not."

I love your new blog header and stuff!
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, favorite Dr. S quote? I don't have one really, but I LOVE reading the part in "Cat In The Hat" where he lists all the things the Cat picks up. I read it really fast and my kids giggle their heads off. Too fun!
Megan,
ReplyDeleteThanks! The header stuff was actually pretty easy to customize. I plan on experimenting some more over the weekend. If you want to do your own custom header, check out shabbyblogs.com. They have a tutorial, and it's free. Of course, they do have ones you can pay for, too. But I found that they had a pretty cool free collection.
Love #2 and #5 - two of my favorites. In fact, we read Horton Hatches the egg on Tuesday. We have a tradition in our house on Dr. Seuss's birthday that each family member gets to choose one of his books and we read them together. This year the kids added one for the dog. So fun!
ReplyDeleteMy kids are just starting to get into Cat in the Hat, although on the tv :( and they love it. I love it when M turns to me and says 'mom that rhymes' I want to say back it all does, but he's learning. I love your blog design too!
ReplyDeleteYAY for Dr. Seuss!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit late to the party, but that's probably okay because my "Dr. Suess" is a little rusty. But "Oh the places you'll go..." Definitely his best read ever.
ReplyDeleteAnd speaking of good reads, I've awarded you blog for being one: http://crystalcollier.blogspot.com/2011/03/more-awards.html
